Foundations, Assessment and Measurement of Behaviour is the second in a series of Positive Teaching and Learning Workshops aimed at training teachers in evidence-based and effective practices for class-wide and individual positive behaviour supports.
What the workshop covers
This workshop will provide teachers with comprehensive training in the skills and knowledge required to conduct a school-based functional behaviour assessment (FBA). Who should attend?
The workshop is suitable for:
As this course assumes a comprehensive understanding of the Positive Teaching methodology, we require that you attend the first workshop in the sequence, Positive Teaching for Effective Classroom Behaviour Management, before enrolling in this course.
If you have completed other professional development in positive behaviour management, you may apply for an exemption for this prerequisite. This will involve completing a mastery test on Positive Teaching, which you can access by completing through this form (please choose the option ‘I would like to complete the access quiz for a Workshop 1 exemption’.
We recommend reading the book, Positive Teaching for Australian Primary Schools: Effective classroom behaviour management by Emeritus Professor Kevin Wheldall AM, Dr Robyn Wheldall and Dr Frank Merrett, in preparation for this mastery quiz and as a refresher on the Positive Teaching method.
Foundations, Assessment and Measurement of Behaviour via face-to-face videoconferencing workshops is coming soon. Register your interest now if you would like to be contacted once we release the self-paced eLearning option, or if you would prefer to conduct the workshop on-site at your school (minimum number of registrations required).
